General Information
Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia 2011 and Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie 2011 takes place in Port Macquarie, NSW on Sunday May 1, 2011.

Professionals and age group athletes competing in the Ironman distance Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia event will enter the water first for a 6.30am race start. Race leaders will exit the water from 7.15am and proceed to the transition area in the Short Street car park.

Professionals and age group athletes competing in the 70.3 distance Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie event will enter the water for a 9.00am race start. Race leaders will exit the water from 9.20am and proceed to the transition area in the Short Street car park.

The Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia and Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie finish chutes are both located in the Town Green Precinct. The Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Finish Line is located in front of the Fig Restaurant, while the Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia finish chute is located immediately in front of the Rydges Hotel on Town Green. The first competitors in the Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie event are expected at approximately 12.45pm – 1.00pm. The first Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia finishers are expected from 2.30pm onwards.

The official race finish time for the Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie event is 4pm, while the Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia event officially closes 17 hours after race start at 11.30pm.

Media kits, authorisation passes and shirts can be collected from the race media centre located in Bayside Rooms 1, 2 and 3 at Rydges Hotel Port Macquarie. Rydges Hotel Port Macquarie is located at 1 Hay Street, Port Macquarie NSW 2444.

The race media centre will be available for all authorised media from 10am Thursday, April 28, until 2pm Monday, May 2. Wireless internet and refreshments will be provided free of charge and live race feeds including timing device information, video streaming and results will be available. Race organizers and local volunteers will also be in attendance to provide race and location information.

The pre-race press conference will be held at 10.30am at the Glasshouse Social Centre on Friday April 29, 2011. The Glasshouse is located on Clarence Street Port Macquarie.

Post Race Interviews

Subject to athlete’s physical condition they may be available for press interviews at the media tent in the post-race area following their finish. Otherwise arrangements for interviews can be made by liasing with media coordinator Kate Patterson on mediaaustralia@ironman.com or 0404 872 991.

Terms and Conditions
Access to media vehicles is limited and WTC reserves the right to use its discretion in allocating positions. Date of application receipt may impact vehicle allocation.

Media authorisation wristbands must be worn and visible for the duration of the event for safety and identification purposes.

Media personnel without proper accreditation will not be granted access to the Ironman course or its environs.

WTC cannot guarantee that special requests will be fulfilled.

Television
WTC owns the exclusive worldwide broadcast rights to Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia and Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie events. Worldwide broadcast rights to the event are licensed domestically and internationally by WTC. By applying for and receiving television broadcast credentials, the licensee agrees that all footage of Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia 2011 and Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie 2011 will be utilized solely by the licensee for the purpose of legitimate news/sports broadcasting at or around the time of the event. Further, all licensees shall agree that said footage will not be used for any commercial purpose or in any other medium outlet, other than specified on this application, without the written consent of WTC.

Photography
Authorisation for Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia and Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie will be issued for editorial purposes only. All commercial photography for this event is covered by WTC’s registered trademarks. Prior to commercial usage of such photography, written permission from WTC must be given. Adherence to this requirement will protect against liability should such photography be used improperly. Noncompliance with this requirement may prevent the receipt of authorisation at future events, as well as create legal liability for the unauthorized use of Ironman imagery and trademarks.

Online publications
WTC holds the exclusive broadcast rights to the event, including any online transmissions of video or audio from the event. Internet coverage of Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia and Urban Hotel Group Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie is limited to text and photos. No final race results should be posted until 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011. No outlet may mimic the live update reporting style used by WTC on www.ironmanlive.com.
